About The Showbiz Pops Orchestra.

The Showbiz Pops Orchestra was formed in 2007 by two distinguished conductors and musicians long associated with the world of Musicals, both in this country and abroad, Richard Ward-Roden and Stuart Calvert., with the specific purpose of celebrating this golden period of Musical Theatre history. They have brought together an exciting line-up of  leading professional musicians from across the West End (many of whom are active as soloists, work within the recording industry and perform with International and National classical orchestras) to create a theatre concert orchestra uniquely committed to performances of 20th century musicals in their original theatrical orchestrations, movie music and popular classics. The Showbiz Pops Orchestra focuses on exciting and innovative concerts that are designed to entertain both the seasoned enthusiast, as well as the casual music lover.

Performances take the form of a platform concert with the orchestra centre stage. Guest singers perform with semi-staging where appropriate, directed by Movement Director Katherine Taylor.

Concerts feature well known artists from the West End and National Tours, opera stars and well known personalities.
